Overview.
The University of Nebraska maintains a University-wide Microsoft Campus Agreement, currently valid from Effective Date: 13-OCT-2009, Expected Effective End Date 30-OCT-2012..
The Lincoln Campus ONLY also purchased the student option portion of that Microsoft Campus agreement, as described next.

The following software is available on DVDs.

Keyed CDs.
All DVDs are 'keyed'. That is, each DVD comes with a unique 25 digits activation key, and users must type the activation key to install the software.

Minimum Requirements.
Per Microsoft guidelines, computers must meet the following requirements to perform a minimum install (for practical use we recommend twice the processor speed, memory, and storage space).
Office 2008 (MAC) Requirements.
500MHz PowerPC G4 or higher
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or higher.
512MB of memory.
2GB of storage space, and DVD-ROM drive.
Office 2007 Enterprise (WIN) Requirements.
500MHz Pentium or higher.
Windows XP/2003, or higher.
256MB of memory.
2.0GB of storage space, and DVD-ROM drive.
Windows Vista / Windows 7 Upgrade Requirements.
1GHz Pentium or higher.
Windows 2000/ XP for Vista, Windows XP/Vista for Windows 7.
1.0GB of memory for 32-bit install, 2.0GB for 64-bit install.
16GB of storage space for 32-bit install, 20GB for 64-bit install.
DVD-ROM drive.
1028x768x32bit or higher video card.
Internet connection (for Windows Product Activation).
Warning #1: Windows 7 Installation Processs.
Installing Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate from a licensed media being less than obvious, Microsoft created a document explain that process.
The recommended steps are as follow.
1. Download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor from the Microsoft web site.
2. Run the Advisor and select the Windows 7 Installation Option that is
Right for You
3. Activate Your Windows 7 Upgrade License

Warning #2: Windows Product Activation.
1) At install time, when prompted user must type the 25 digits key, AND
2) Within 30 days, user must connect to the Microsoft web site to activate Windows (the Windows web site verifies the 25 digits activation key and associates a machine’s PID [ProductID] to the hardware configuration.)
Pass the 30 days grace period, Windows will disallow interactive logons until the system is properly activated.
Also, if two users install from the same DVD, the first user who activates Windows 'WINS' (his computer's PID gets associated with the 25 digits activation key). The second user will FAIL activating as a same 25 digits activation key CANNOT be associated with two or more PIDs.

Purchasing Process.
- Software only sold at our Computer Stores (501 Stadium drive, room 123; City Union lower level; East Union; and 211 Nebraska Hall).
- University of Nebraska, Lincoln Campus, Student ID required.
- Only students (as opposed to PARENTS) may purchase.
- Users must complete and sign an agreement form, which governs the use of the software.
- Users do not own the software, rather they are leasing the license and DVDs from the University, for the term of the agreement.
- Users may only purchase one copy of any software from us (sometimes Microsoft does web promotions, and users can purchase a second copy directly from Microsoft web site).

Support Services.
This agreement does NOT entitle the Institution or its users to free telephone support from Microsoft with respect to the software. For support, please contact the UNL help desk at 472-3970.

Termination and Software Removal.
You will be required to remove the Software from your personal machine immediately upon the earlier of (a) any event, with the exception of graduation, which causes you no longer to be a student of the institution, or (b) expiration of the Campus Agreement Subscription term.

Graduation/Student Confirmation Form.
If you graduate during the agreement term, the Software license will convert to a perpetual license (meaning you own the Software) once you complete and return a Student License Confirmation form as described next. The Student License Confirmation is proof of Software ownership.
